The new season offers up a few tweaks to the popular game after new prices were revealed this week.
Fantasy Premier League players across the world will be eagerly awaiting the return of the Premier League for the 2024-25 season.
Manchester City will be aiming for a fifth successive title and the likes of Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah will be popular picks once again.
But there will be some significant changes to FPL for the new campaign. Here is everything you need to know.
- Free Transfers:
- Players can now accumulate up to five free transfers, rewarding those who resist making frequent additions to their squads.
- Saved transfers won’t reset to zero when using the Wildcard or Free Hit chips.
- Pitch Design:
- The pitch layout has been tweaked for better usability.
- Each player now has a player card, providing key information to help managers decide whom to start, bench, or sell.
- Points System Changes:
- Goalkeepers now earn 10 points (up from 6) for scoring a goal (though this is rare!).
- Goalkeepers’ bonus points for saving penalties have been reduced from 15 to 9.
- Bonus points for goal line clearances and shots on target have been introduced.
- Players receive a bonus point for winning a foul.
- Blank/Double Gameweeks:
- There will be fewer Blank and Double gameweeks due to the FA Cup schedule, making planning easier.
- Mystery Chip:
- FPL introduces a new chip, but its function remains a mystery.
- Unfortunately, it won’t be available until January.
Remember, FPL isn’t just about numbers—it’s about the camaraderie, banter, and unexpected moments that make it special! Enjoy the new season.
