Eden Hazard, a former midfielder for Real Madrid, revealed that his love of alcohol was the reason he was overweight.
In a recent podcast interview, Hazard and former Chelsea teammate John Obi Mikel verified this.
He added that after being released by the team, he “wasn’t having fun on the pitch” anymore, which is why he made the decision to hang up his boots.
Speaking on the Obi One Podcast, Hazard stated, “It was true.” “But for me, I gained four or five kilograms every summer because I believed that your time off is when you deserve it—you give so much for ten months, push your body to its limit, and then people reject you.”
If you look at my career thus far, though, the first month of the season is when I felt like it was just getting started. From September and October, on the other hand, I was flying because I needed that time to prepare my body and mind for maximum performance.
“So yeah, it’s true that I gained five kilograms after the holidays, and I knew it.”
With family and friends, I adore everything. If you ask me to consume something, I will comply. I’m going to eat even if I don’t like it!
“Beers are great in Belgium, so as a Belgian guy, we love them. I’m not saying I used to drink all the time, because that’s not true, but sometimes, after a good game, a few beers is nice.”
